Product thinking

Building useful digital products starts with the problem

A practical way to move from an interesting idea to a clear, testable product direction.

Start with the problem

A useful product begins with a real need, not a long feature list. Identify who experiences the problem, when it appears, and what a better outcome would look like.

Make the first version understandable

Choose a small set of essential tasks and make those tasks clear. A focused first version is easier to test, explain, and improve than a broad product whose purpose is hard to describe.

Learn from evidence

Ask people to try the experience, observe where they struggle, and use that evidence to decide what to change. Be honest about what has been tested and what is still an assumption.

Build deliberately

Good technology is not only about complexity. It is also about accessibility, reliability, maintainability, and respecting the people who depend on the result.
